First Advantage Honored as Bronze Stevie Award Winner in 2017 American Business Awards

First Advantage, a portfolio holding of Symphony Technology Group and the world’s largest background screening firm, today announced it was named a winner of a bronze Stevie® Award for Company of the Year in the Business and Professional Services category for large companies.

More than 3,600 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration in a wide range of categories in the 15th annual American Business AwardsSM.

“It’s truly an honor to be presented with this award,” said First Advantage CEO Scott Staples, who joined the organization earlier in 2017. “It’s a testament to those who worked and continue to work so hard to contribute to the success that led us here.”

The judges who selected First Advantage as a winner had similar praise. “It seems 2016 was a key year, developing and launching new initiatives. Well done,” congratulated one. Another noted that “each hire is key to the success of the organization—reinforcing hiring decisions with accurate intelligence is tremendously valuable,” while a third was highly impressed by First Advantage’s 55 million background screens per year and ability to set up accounts in less than 72 hours.

“Each year the judges find the quality and variety of the nominations to be greater than the year before. The 2017 competition was intense and every organization that has won should be proud,” said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards.
