At Symphony, we are proud of the personal passion of our leaders and executives. One that we are particularly proud of is our association to the Wadhwani Foundation, founded in 2000 by Dr. Romesh Wadhwani, our founder, CEO and chairman. Romesh believes in celebrating success with philanthropy. The Foundation’s mission is economic acceleration in emerging economies, particularly India and other Asian countries. The Foundation aims to create and fulfil 25 million jobs by 2020 through 5 initiatives and one of these is the Opportunity Network for Disabled (OND) which is propelling widespread change with the mission of mainstreaming the educated disabled in corporate India within five years. The Foundation aims to achieve this by training and placement of disabled individuals into mid-skill entry level jobs with the goal of placing 100,000 disabled by 2020.
Romesh recently delivered a video message to the attendees at the National Conference on Skill Training of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) in New Delhi. “Nothing is more important than giving people the opportunity to have a high quality job,” he said.
